home sweet home

Dear sketchbook,

i lost u on 14 Jan 2007. It was about 7.15pm when i left the library. Crashed on bed the moment i reached home. When i woke up at around 10pm to unpack, i couldn't find u!! i almost stabbed myself to death.

Time was 10.45pm, still not totally recovered from shock. But there's nothing much i can do bcos library closed at 9pm. The very next day, i'll fetch u home! you would be sitting on that table i sat that night, waiting for me.. and will jump into my open arms when i'm here for you! Tried to convince myself the rest of the night that i'll find you.. *so scared*

Woke up at about 9.30am. Changed and half-jog-run to library. Reached at 10.10am. Library already invaded by quite a number of early birds. 2nd floor: Tables sparkling clean. no sight of books. no sketchbook. oh no. i searched the shelves.. no you. went to 1st floor's counter with a small light of hope! still no you. Librarian suggest i leave my contact and will call me when found.

Walked back to 2nd floor to search again.. Sat on a couch to.. think. Just felt lost so stoned there for quite some time. One last try. i approached anthr librarian and asked if she was on duty last night. ..She said no and asked why. I told her i lost a A4 sketchbook. She said hang on and will check for me. Actually 2nd floor has a lost and found private room! i waited outside.. hoping u'll be in there.

directly outside the room, i saw a chinese book. Title: wen rou de xiao xi (direct translation- gentle message) i wondered if i'll get a 'gentle message' (good news).. and TA-DAH!!! librarian walked out w my sketchbook!!!! it's really YOU!!!
